Waves Group Completes MWS Contract for Hiep Thanh Nearshore Wind Farm Project
March 7, 2022
WTG blades and Hub on the transport vessel waiting to be lifted and fitted on to the wind turbine tower and nacelle.
Waves Group are pleased to have provided Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) services for the construction of the Hiep Thanh nearshore wind farm project – our third offshore wind contract win in Vietnam.
The project nearshore construction is now complete and will be commissioned in the first quarter of the year. Our scope of work included the installation of foundations, WTGs, array cables and nearshore marine works. The project was managed by our Singapore office with the support of our team in the London office.
The wind farm has a generating capacity of 78 MW and is located off the coast of Tra Vinh Province, Vietnam, has 18 Siemens Gamesa 4.3 MW wind turbines. Once commissioned, the Project will generate an estimated 295.4-gigawatt hours per year (GWh/year) of renewable power, which will be transferred to the national electricity grid, providing up to 180,975 households with clean energy.
The Hiep Thanh wind farm is a joint venture between EcoTech Tra Vinh Renewables JSC, and its investors, Janakuasa Pte Ltd, Ecotech Vietnam, Climate Investor One, which is managed by Climate Fund Managers (CFM), and ST International.
