Waves Group Celebrates the Opening of European Office
February 16, 2021
Waves Group Rotterdam
Waves Group strategic expansion continues with the opening of a European office in Rotterdam, the centre of Europe’s Shipping and Offshore Energy Industries.
We are delighted to welcome Jan-Peter Breedeveld a Civil/Structural Engineer, to lead the development of our European operations. Jan-Peter has established credentials in the Offshore Energy and Heavy Lift Industries having worked as an Engineering/Project Director on major offshore projects across Europe, Asia, and the Americas for over 30 years. He joins us from Subsea 7’s Renewables unit (formerly Seaway Heavy Lifting), where he was responsible for the transportation and installation scope on a number of major European offshore wind projects.
The opening of this office further builds on over a decade of experience with our European energy colleagues and partners, which started with the installation of the Thornton Bank Phase 2 & 3 Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) in Belgium. Waves Group’s offshore renewables experience across Europe has grown significantly since that first project and covers over 65 renewable energy projects with a combined generating power of 22 Gigawatts – many of which are providing sustainable power to the energy grid.
Jan-Peter’s background in civil/structural engineering and shipping, extends Waves Group’s marine casualty services into the heart of Continental Europe with a rapid, first responder capability.
Our growth strategy includes the further strengthening and expansion of our team with the appointments of Kenny English (LNG Specialist), Paul Coates (Fire and HAZMAT expert), and William Hargreaves (Pilot/ Master Mariner) to meet opportunities created across the EU in casualty response, maritime energy transition (LNG), renewable energy and offshore decommissioning. With an experienced multi-disciplinary team of structural, marine, and maritime civil engineers, master mariners and naval architects, we are able to manage major large-scale casualty and offshore engineering projects.
Waves Group’s aim is to continue to support our Shipping and Offshore energy clients, maintaining the same consistently high-quality service that our clients currently enjoy worldwide. We are pleased to have achieved the successful opening of our Rotterdam office and would like to thank all our customers, partners and friends for their continued support and look forward to many new opportunities for continued growth.
The office is located at Stationsplein 45, Unit A4.004, 3013 AK Rotterdam. To contact our Rotterdam office telephone +44 (0) 20 7083 7266 (24/7 emergency response) or email rotterdam@waves-group.nl.
