Safety Inspections and Audits

We work with our clients to develop the scope of the audit, covering both documentary reviews and on-site inspections as required.

Our multi-disciplinary team combines design, analytical, and operational experience, which enables us to make practical and realistic recommendations that meet all necessary regulations and good industry practice – while also considering commercial costs.

Following the audit, we provide comprehensive reports with clear recommendations.  We can assist the parties in implementing and maintaining the standards recommended.

We are regularly requested to witness  new equipment and technology testing.  Where appropriate, we can assist in making recommendations for improvement.

For example, we have been instructed to:

  • Provide independent review and witnessing of the testing of a crane boom-lock device to enable the lifting and installation of offshore wind turbine blades in stronger wind conditions, creating a wider weather window for operations
  • Conduct a complete safety audit of an offshore bulk cargo loading facility on behalf of the national administration.  This audit covered all aspects of the operation from the design, certification and maintenance of the facility, vessel operations, pilotage, cargo handling and emergency response matters
  • Review port infrastructure to establish the scope of a property insurance policy and assist underwriters with understanding the risk profile
  • Independently witness pioneering jack-up operations in high tidal currents, to assess the capability for an increased range of safe operations for tidal energy projects
