Project Description:
Transport and installation of bridge sections for the new Sundsvall Bridge.
Our Role:
We were engaged by Sarens NV to undertake third party verification of the marine engineering aspects of the transport and installation of the bridge sections. A range of verification assessments and analysis was performed by Mwaves to support the Sarens operation. The bridge sections were successfully installed in 2013.
Activities:
- Third Party verification of Sundsvall Bridge loadout and barge stability;
- Structural analysis of lifting gantry supports, grillages and braces;
- Stability analysis for the range of barge loading conditions;
- Motions analysis for the transports including the hoisted bridge condition;
- Dynamic mooring analysis for the barges with the bridge sections hoisted;
