Another Successful Year for Waves Group Singapore
March 16, 2021
We are pleased to announce another successful year for our Singapore office, and what a year it has been. This is the second-year anniversary for the office since its opening in February 2019 and we have been incredibly busy on a number of fantastic energy projects, port design issues and shipping incidents.
Our activities last year spanned the length and breadth of the APAC region, being involved in matters ranging from allisions, FFO damage incidents, port suitability studies, business interruption claims, container stack collapses and casualty response cases, through to providing marine warranty surveyor services for the construction of two offshore wind farms in Vietnam and the deployment of the Atlantis AR500 tidal turbines offshore Goto Island Japan.
Our operations in Singapore focusses on shipping, offshore energy and ports and terminals and are heavily involved with casualty response management, port structures and FFO damage.
Since opening in February 2019 and under the leadership of Brian Armour our team have successfully assisted our clients in over 110 significant shipping related incidents and port claims. We are pleased to be celebrating this second anniversary following the very successful year the company has had in 2020, which included moving to a larger office in Pickering Street.
Drawing on the successes of this past year, and the increasing demand for our services and expertise, we have further increased our workforce and capabilities with the addition of two Consultant Naval Architects, Liu Li and Mok Yu Ling who join Brian Armour and Rajesh Raman. Their addition to the team further extends Waves Group’s ‘Rapid First Responder’ capability in marine casualty and strengthens our engineering and MWS services to better serve the growing marine and renewable energy industries across the APAC region.
Moving forward into this year, we are very excited to see the growth of offshore wind and a return to pre-COVID shipping activities and look forward to forming mutual partnerships and collaborations, using our years of knowledge and experience to make 2021 and beyond even better for the Group.
We would like to thank our Singapore team and supporting clients in making our second year in Singapore a success.
