Waves Group are pleased to announce it has secured the Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) contract for the third phase of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm development – Dogger Bank C. This is our third win of the three project phases as we are currently providing MWS services for Dogger Bank A and B, which are currently under construction.
Once the three phases are complete, Dogger Bank will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world. In total it is expected to generate around 18 TWh annually, enough to power six million UK homes, which equates to 5% of the UK electricity demand.
The project is a joint venture between SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%) and Eni (20%) and is located 130km off the coast of England. Dogger Bank C will connect to the National Grid at the existing Lackenby Substation in Teesside.
We are pleased to be involved in the construction of all three phases of the project which further reinforces our position as a leading offshore marine consultancy within the offshore wind industry. Waves Group has over 10 years’ experience working within the renewable energy sector and have supplied MWS services on a number of large-scale offshore wind farm projects across the UK, Europe and Asia such as, Triton Knoll, Horns Rev 3, Galloper, Beatrice, Seamade, Formosa 1 Phase 2, all of which are already supplying energy to the grid.
Our team of naval architects, master mariners, marine, civil, and structural engineers have the technical expertise which enables us to offer a one-stop shop service to our clients from early consultation to construction. We combine our operational and practical experience to deliver costs savings, minimise risk and offer innovative solutions.
